Median Nerve

The median nerve is one of those nerves that can make a horse look like they have a training problem… when what they really have is a communication problem.

The way the horse reaches, braces, shortens, trips, protects, or suddenly decides that one lead is now personally offensive.

And because the median nerve runs through a busy mechanical neighborhood, it rarely throws a simple little tantrum by itself. It can show up as:

• Shoulder tension.
• Forearm guarding.
• A restricted stride.
• Odd hoof loading.

Because once you understand the median nerve, the front limb starts making a lot more sense.
